Eastern Correctional Institution to Host Media Day for America’s Vet Dogs Program Thursday, 2/21 at 10:30 a.m.

TOWSON, MD (February 19, 2013) --- Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI), Maryland’s largest prison, will open its doors to show off DPSCS’ unique restorative justice program that uses incarcerated veterans and other inmates to train service dogs for wounded American servicemen and women.

The partnership with America’s Vet Dogs has placed puppies in three DPSCS prisons. The puppies will be trained by the inmates for approximately one year before being handed over as service dogs to wounded veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
